As part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade pilgrimage facilities and improve infrastructure at sacred sites, we undertook the development of essential structures at Gabbar Hill, a spiritually significant site in Ambaji, Gujarat.
A key component of this initiative was the construction of the main entry gate to the 51 Shakti Peeth Parikrama Path, strategically located at the base of Gabbar Hill, which marks the beginning of the holy trail undertaken by thousands of pilgrims each year. This iconic gate is built using RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) frame construction and is elegantly cladded with Bansi Paharpur stones, known for their strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. The use of this heritage stone aligns the structure with the regional architectural vocabulary and religious significance of the area.
To further enhance the pilgrimage experience, a dedicated canteen building was also constructed in close proximity to the entry gate. This facility was designed to provide hygienic, accessible, and affordable food and refreshments to pilgrims and visitors, especially those making long journeys. The canteen structure too is cladded in Bansi Paharpur stones, maintaining a uniform and dignified visual identity across the entire development.
The overall planning considered foot traffic flow, cultural importance, climate responsiveness, and accessibility. The placement and construction quality of both the gate and the canteen reflect a thoughtful integration of functionality and faith. These developments have significantly contributed to improving visitor services, managing crowd flow, and preserving the sanctity of the pilgrimage experience at Gabbar Hill.
By enhancing both infrastructure and aesthetics, this project plays a vital role in supporting religious tourism, upholding spiritual heritage, and promoting the cultural identity of the Ambaji region.
